Job description

Virtusa is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior QA Engineer to join our growing team in Colombo, responsible for ensuring high-quality software through effective testing strategies.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop automated test scripts following established automation guidelines

Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents

Create detailed and comprehensive test plans and test cases

Identify, document, and track software defects

Perform regression testing to validate defect fixes

Monitor QA metrics, including defect density and defect trends

Skill

Test automation tools (e.g., Espresso)

Software QA methodologies, tools, and processes

Functional testing

API testing using Postman or SoapUI

JIRA and Confluence

Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Experience and credentials

Minimum of 3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance

Prior experience as a Test Automation Engineer is highly desirable

Proven experience in creating clear and comprehensive test plans

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
