How do I deactivate my account?

Deactivate your account if you want to take a break from using VitalFew.

Open Settings

Open the profile menu at the top of the page, then select Settings.

Go to Account

Under User Settings, select Account.

Deactivate your account

Select Deactivate account, then select Deactivate.

Extra information

Deactivating puts your account on pause rather than closing it. Your details and connections stay safe, and you can come back whenever you like.

Deactivation happens as soon as you select Deactivate. There is no confirmation step, so be sure before you select it.

While your account is deactivated:

  • Your profile is hidden, so people cannot find you in search or see you in their connections
  • Your posts and comments come down
  • Nobody can message you
  • Job applications you have already submitted stay with the employer

If you are an Agent or Organisation, any live adverts are removed.

When you are ready to return, see How do I reactivate my account?

Deactivation is different from changing your visibility settings. If you only want to limit who sees your details, see How do I manage profile visibility?
